Responsibilities
Design and own core systems
Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable services supporting institutional digital asset products
Ship production-grade code
Contribute directly to mission-critical systems across backend services, data pipelines, and internal platforms
Set technical direction
Define patterns, best practices, and architectural standards that are adopted across teams
Operate at institutional standards
Build systems with strong guarantees around reliability, observability, security, and auditability
Partner cross-functionally
Work closely with product, security, compliance, and operations to deliver systems aligned with regulated financial environments
Mentor by example
Support senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on collaboration
Qualification
Required
A Staff-level software engineer with experience owning and evolving complex production systems
Strong system-design instincts and comfort navigating ambiguity
Experience building backend or platform systems in fintech, crypto, infrastructure, or other high-trust domains
Pragmatic, detail-oriented, and thoughtful about trade-offs
Comfortable influencing across teams without formal authority
Preferred
Location: NYC or San Francisco (NYC preferred)
Compensation: $350,000 - $400,000 + equity (Staff-level)
