Responsibilities

Serve as a servant leader for a cross functional engineering team including Software Engineers, Technical Program Managers, and Product Manager–Technical roles
Recruit and hire top talent, ensuring each new hire raises the bar relative to the current team
Collaborate closely with product, vendor, and architecture stakeholders on product definition, technical design, and overall delivery strategy
Act as a technical resource and mentor, helping team members grow their skills and make sound engineering decisions
Review designs, code, and implementations with an emphasis on quality, resiliency, and maintainability
Communicate clearly and confidently in department wide forums, helping convey application-level direction, progress, and priorities
Coach, guide, and develop your team, ensuring goal setting, check ins, and performance management are done thoughtfully and on time
Own the health of your team’s software, including runtime characteristics, maintenance behaviors, dependencies, and environmental considerations
Make rapid, confident decisions in a fast-paced environment, providing clarity amid ambiguity
Drive senior management communication, including delivery updates, support considerations, and escalations as needed

Required

Proven experience leading high-performing software development teams is required
Relevant hands-on experience with software development is required (C/C++ or Java preferred)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and driving engineering efficiency
Demonstrated ability to design scalable, reliable solutions for complex problem spaces
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Outstanding communication skills with all levels of the organization

Preferred

A degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferred
Managing, coaching, and developing high-performing Agile engineering teams is preferred
