Responsibilities
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 19+ Emulation Hardware Support Engineers across multiple regions
Design and oversee on-call rotations, training programs, and career development plans to build expertise in FPGA-based systems, Linux administration, and network diagnostics
Implement performance metrics (e.g., MTTR < 2 hours, <5% escalations) and conduct quarterly reviews to align team goals with organizational objectives
Own end-to-end lifecycle management of emulation hardware, including capacity planning, deployment, firmware updates, and decommissioning
Develop and support SOPs for hardware diagnostics, failure analysis, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
Partner with IT and facilities teams to optimize data center layouts, power/cooling efficiency, and hardware security protocols
Lead critical incident response for Severity 1 issues, coordinating with engineering and customer teams to resolve outages within SLA targets
Conduct post-mortem analyses to identify root causes (e.g., firmware bugs, thermal throttling) and implement corrective actions
Maintain a knowledge base of resolved cases to accelerate future troubleshooting
Work with R&D to provide field feedback for improving hardware design (e.g., debug interfaces, telemetry capabilities)
Partner with sales/support teams on customer-facing activities, including pre-sales technical reviews and on-site deployment support
Coordinate with vendors to negotiate SLAs for component replacements and firmware support
Implement monitoring tools to track system health metrics (latency, thermal levels, FPGA utilization)
Automate repetitive tasks such as log analysis, firmware rollouts, and inventory tracking using Automation tools
Lead quarterly capacity planning reviews to align infrastructure with projected customer demand
Qualification
Required
Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience: 10+ years in hardware operations roles
Expertise in FPGA-based emulation systems (e.g., Veloce or Equivalent)
Basic/Mid-level Linux administration
Leadership: 5+ years managing technical teams in 24/7 environments. Proven track record of reducing MTTR by 30% through process improvements
Global compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2)
Crisis Management: Demonstrated ability to lead teams during high-pressure outages (e.g., resolving multi-rack failures under SLA deadlines)
Stakeholder Communication: Skill in translating technical incidents into business impact reports for executives
Innovation: History of implementing cost-saving initiatives (e.g., predictive maintenance algorithms reducing hardware CAPEX by 15%)
Benefits
Flexibility - Choosing between working at home and the office at other times is the norm here.
