GM - Wholesale & Business Development
H&S Energy Group is seeking a General Manager of Wholesale Fuel who will report directly to the Vice President of Wholesale and Business Development. This role is responsible for leading daily operations, sales performance, and strategic growth of the wholesale fuel division, overseeing dealer relationships, and ensuring compliance with supplier requirements.

Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of the wholesale fuel department, including sales, account management, and contract execution
Lead and support a team of Business Development Managers, Coordinators, and administrative personnel
Ensure departmental processes and performance align with company objectives and compliance standards
Monitor operational efficiency, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve service delivery
Collaborate with the VP of Wholesale and Business Development on strategic initiatives, budgeting, and long-term growth planning
Implement sales strategies to achieve volume, margin, and profitability goals for both branded and unbranded fuel programs
Support and guide Business Development Managers in identifying and onboarding new dealers, partners, and licensing opportunities
Analyze market conditions, competitor activities, and pricing structures to maintain a competitive edge
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, vendors, and key business partners to enhance growth opportunities
Serve as the primary point of escalation for major dealer accounts and contractual issues
Ensure consistent communication and service excellence across all customer relationships
Oversee contract administration, renewals, and performance monitoring for wholesale fuel accounts
Support dealer partners in optimizing operations, marketing initiatives, and compliance with supplier image standards
Conduct periodic site visits to maintain relationships and assess performance opportunities
Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial targets
Monitor revenue, margins, and expenses to ensure profitability and operational efficiency
Review financial performance reports and provide strategic insights to the VP of Wholesale
Ensure accurate reporting of sales volumes, supply costs, and account activity
Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities without compromising service quality
Oversee adherence to supplier brand and image standards for branded accounts
Maintain accurate and complete documentation for contracts
Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams to resolve contract or operational disputes
Lead, mentor, and evaluate departmental staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and growth
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching
Promote collaboration and communication between internal teams and external partners
Identify training needs and ensure team members are equipped with the tools and knowledge to perform effectively
Partner with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Marketing departments to support wholesale business objectives
Provide market insights and operational recommendations to executive leadership
Participate in the development of licensing programs and strategic initiatives to expand the company’s wholesale network
Represent the wholesale division at internal meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
Minimum 7+ years of experience in wholesale or fuel industry operations, with at least 3 years in a management role
Proven track record of leadership in wholesale fuel sales, account management, or business development
Strong understanding of fuel supply, logistics, pricing, and dealer relations
Experience managing departmental budgets, P&L responsibilities, and performance metrics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage complex partnerships
Financially savvy with an understanding of margins, pricing models, and cost control
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams
