They are seeking a driven and results-oriented R&D Electrical Engineer to join their team, responsible for the architecture, design, test, and certification of complex digital and mixed-signal systems for National Security Programs.

Responsibilities

Work with an Agile team to develop secure embedded systems
Work with Systems Engineers and our customers to define and clarify requirements
Architect digital and mixed analog/digital systems consisting of custom rigid and rigid-flex printed circuit boards
Characterize custom hardware for high-rigor designs and environments
Partner with outside organizations to lead the development of new knowledge areas in printed circuit engineering
Develop and contribute to security design and documentation
Travel to partner and customer locations as required (generally 3-6 times per year)

Required

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Preferred

Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation)
Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers
Outstanding verbal and written skills, including the ability to develop and present briefings that are clear and compelling
Demonstrated experience designing and realizing custom printed circuit boards, including rigid and rigid-flex, for high-consequence applications
Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC/TEMPEST design and mitigation, along with experience testing realized product for conformance
Demonstrated experience in signal and power integrity simulation and engineering, along with transmission line analysis
Experience characterizing, testing, and troubleshooting embedded systems
Knowledge of configuration management systems (GitLab, SVN, etc.)
An active DOE Q-level security clearance, or other equivalent active security clearance such as DoD Top Secret
