Responsibilities
Ability to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools distributed systems and artificial intelligence
As part of the Applications Platform team, you will help design, implement, and operate distributed systems that power OCI’s managed container and serverless infrastructure
You will design and build major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure from the ground up
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
8+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
8+ years of experience of working on Java or C++ and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies
Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive
Experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
Preferred
Masters degree in Computer Science
Experience in a start-up environment
Experience in developing or managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes along with one of the following areas will be considered a strong plus: Overlay networking and container networking on Linux, System and service management on Linux
Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus
Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
