Internal Payroll Administrator

The Internal Payroll Administrator will assist in managing corporate employee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, and supporting HR and Finance teams with payroll-related inquiries and reporting.

Responsibilities
Comprehensive understanding of payroll processing; time off and attendance, reporting, manage time-card exceptions and supervisor time-card approvals, employee taxes, exemptions, transfers, garnishments, pay deductions, etc
Reviews new hire, termination and employee change paperwork for payroll processing in an accurate and timely manner
Responsible for timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for corporate employees residing in multiple states and Canada
Prepares various payroll related reports on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly basis
Attends meetings regarding payroll concerns and works with team to provide resolutions
Prepares payroll tax reports and works closely with finance
Assist employees with various inquiries regarding payroll issues and employment policies
Organizes and maintains employee payroll files
Responds to a wide variety of payroll inquires which may involve researching programs, policies, procedures
Responds to employment verification requests (i.e. EDD, State Disability, etc.)
Maintains state and local agency login access and rates
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, payroll laws and reporting
Performs additional duties as assigned to provide support to the HR or Finance teams
Record hours worked, wage amounts, and other data about each employee into a computerized payroll accounting system each week
Evaluate the accuracy of time-sheets submitted by each company department each pay cycle and contact supervisors or individual employees when there is a discrepancy
Respond to any errors in payroll by reviewing past records and making any wage corrections or adjustments when necessary
Track employee absences through the payroll software and record details about personal days, sick leave, jury duty and extended leaves of absence
Assist with training and payroll processes for Managers and Supervisors
Assist in special projects, training, and processes and forms
Onsite requirements as needed to Burbank office
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree a plus
Minimum of 2-4 years' experience supporting Payroll
2-4 years' experience with HRIS Payroll Software
2-4 years' experience supporting multiple state payrolls
Familiarity with Canadian laws and regulations as they relate to payroll
High attention to detail
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi task
Professional poise about written/verbal communication, emotional intelligence, and team collaboration
Exercises discretion and maintains a high level of confidentiality
Proactive and enthusiastic
Strong proclivity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and quickly adapt to changes in work assignment
Must be comfortable working onsite in our Burbank office as needed
