Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, secure IT solutions for SMB clients across multiple verticals
Assess client environments, business needs, and technical requirements to architect effective solutions
Produce high-level and detailed architecture documentation, including diagrams, bills of materials, and solution blueprints
Standardize solution frameworks and reference architectures to support repeatable delivery
Partner closely with Sales and Client Success teams throughout the sales cycle
Lead technical discovery sessions to capture business objectives, requirements, risks, and constraints
Support RFQ and RFP responses by developing technical architectures, pricing inputs, and solution narratives
Draft and contribute to proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and client presentations
Deliver Harbor’s value proposition clearly through live demonstrations, written materials, and executive-level discussions
Serve as the primary technical authority in complex or competitive sales cycles
Stay current on emerging technologies, vendor roadmaps, security trends, and MSP best practices
Provide strategic guidance on platform selection, modernization, and service optimization
Partner with Sales and Leadership to recommend and design new service offerings and portfolio enhancements
Act as a trusted technical advisor to internal teams and key clients
Serve as technical lead during project handoff to delivery and project management teams
Ensure solutions are implemented according to architectural standards and client requirements
Review project designs, configurations, and documentation for quality and consistency
Support troubleshooting and remediation planning for complex implementation issues
Participate in post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
5+ years as a Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or equivalent role within an MSP or similar IT services environment
Strong knowledge of IT technology/services, networking, cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), cybersecurity, VoIP, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and applications relevant to SMB customers
Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
Highly organized with exceptional follow-up
Excellent presentation, writing, and client-facing communication skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex technical challenges
Strong teamwork and leadership abilities to work cross-functionally with Sales, Service Delivery, Projects, and CS teams
Bachelor's degree
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Azure Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, or equivalent
Additional certifications in operations management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Management)
