Responsibilities

Supports the Midstream Control Center Operations team by providing engineering and analytical support to operational teams responsible for monitoring and controlling infrastructure systems
Responsibilities include working with operational data, supporting system improvements, and assisting with troubleshooting activities, offering hands‑on exposure to industrial control systems, technical problem‑solving, and process optimization
Supports Cenovus’s Maintenance Readiness function, contributing to the reliability and lifecycle management
Key responsibilities include asset management support, project development, asset criticality analysis, and maintenance data governance to improve equipment reliability, readiness, and long‑term asset performance across operations
Assists with audits and reviews of measurement documentation, validates Field Data Capture entries, and supports accurate reporting to ensure regulatory compliance
It also involves collaborating with Production Accounting, Engineering, and PIMM teams to resolve metering discrepancies, plant imbalances, and proration issues
Focuses on supporting project execution through project management, engineering evaluations, hazard assessments, and collaboration with construction teams and stakeholders
The work supports Conventional Heavy Oil and Thermal projects in the Lloydminster region
Supports pipeline integrity project engineers in the design and execution of small pipeline and facility projects, contributing to safe, reliable oil and gas transportation
Provides exposure to a fast‑paced engineering environment supporting day‑to‑day operations, with opportunities to apply engineering principles to the operation, maintenance, and optimization of production facilities
The position involves continuous collaboration with cross‑functional engineering and operations teams, building a broad understanding of facility systems and strengthening technical expertise beyond a single discipline
Supports upstream operations and development teams by assisting engineers and operational leaders to promote safe and efficient production
The position contributes to day‑to‑day asset performance through engineering support, coordination, and problem‑solving across production activities

Required

Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
Available to begin work in September 2026
Ability to work well in a team environment
Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel
Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills
Must be enrolled in a Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities
A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role
