Responsibilities
Assist with oversight of third-party property managers and leasing, including strategic planning, management, leasing, financial analyses, and reporting on asset performance
Develop and implement strategic business plans for multifamily and student housing assets, focusing on maximizing performance and market positioning
Oversee property operations, review management reports, track performance, and build strong relationships with property managers and onsite staff
Conduct site visits to monitor capital projects, approve expenses, and address operational issues
Analyze property-level contracts and agreements, and collaborate with attorneys as needed
Conduct market research to inform strategic planning and asset performance
Manage the reporting process for business plans and portfolio reviews, and assist with annual budgets, rental rates, and appraisals
Maintain relationships with joint venture partners, management companies, and industry consultants
Ensure compliance with all relevant agreements and reporting requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, economics, or a related business discipline
Three to five years of experience in asset management, capital, and leasing
Experience with multifamily and student housing property management or acquisitions
Advanced Excel skills (including building and proofing financial models)
Ability to travel between properties throughout the U.S
Strong understanding of commercial real estate terms and investment principles
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Outstanding organizational abilities with keen attention to detail
Motivated, results-driven, and possess a strong work ethic
Preferred
Experience with multifamily and student housing property management or acquisitions
Familiarity with Argus and real estate analysis tools such as CoStar
