Project Manager - Tradeshows and Events
Mecca Design & Production is a company that specializes in creating immersive tradeshow booths and experiential event spaces for high-profile clients. They are seeking a Project Manager with a background in custom fabrication or tradeshow builds to manage projects from kickoff through installation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities
Manage custom tradeshow and event builds from initial client handoff through fabrication, shipping, and on-site install
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, renderings, and build specs to align production timelines with design intent
Work closely with our fabrication team to identify materials, finishes, construction techniques, and hardware solutions that meet budget, timeline, and durability goals
Maintain detailed production schedules, track progress, and update clients and internal teams regularly
Develop and manage budgets for each project, including material costs, labor, rentals, freight, and install expenses
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and union labor to execute installations across various venues and cities
Travel on-site for select installations to supervise setup, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality control
Manage change orders and scope adjustments quickly and professionally
Ensure projects meet client expectations, venue requirements, and Mecca’s internal quality standards
Qualification
Required
3+ years of project management experience in the tradeshow, custom fabrication, events, or experiential design industry
Ability to read and interpret construction/fabrication drawings, CAD files, renderings, and shop sketches
Familiarity with materials such as wood, aluminum, acrylic, vinyl graphics, lighting, and AV components
Strong budgeting and timeline management skills—you know how long things should take and what they should cost
Excellent communication skills with both creative and technical teams
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling 4–8 active projects at once
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed around show schedules
Preferred
Experience with production software (e.g., Monday.com, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Basecamp, or similar)
Understanding of electrical integration (LEDs, monitors, power drops) and show service coordination
Previous hands-on fabrication, shop, or design experience
