Reception Specialist

Responsibilities
Greets customers in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner. Provides any necessary instruction/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of customer’s arrival
Updates patient information (such as insurance cards, driver’s license, authorizations, and referrals)
Administers tablets for completion of personal health information including privacy policies and financial policies
Collects co-payments, deductibles and outstanding balances such as out-of-pocket expenses
Give detailed explanation of benefits and financial agreements
Answers phones in a pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously
Schedules follow-up appointments, as required by physician teams
Enters charges into computer system
Prints charge tickets and necessary paperwork for 'next day clinic'
Balance daily collections with time of service payment, summary report, and prepares deposit slip
Daily: Carries out appropriate actions related to hold and practice buckets
Accepts deliveries, logs and distributes to appropriate parties
Qualification
Required
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have at least one-year work experience in a clinical setting, or equivalent experience in a customer service role
Must have exceptional customer service skills
Familiarity with insurance benefits is a plus
Must be computer literate, with basic knowledge of MS office products, and general office machines such as fax, copier, etc
Must have the ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrate team cooperation
Other duties to be assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company
