COMMAND PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST (TITLE 5)

Responsibilities

Provide executive level support in planning, formulating, coordinating and implementing ARNG programs within the Command Administrative Officer's areas of functional responsibility
Conduct research and analysis of regulatory data regarding command structures, state level authorizations, organizational and program responsibilities, and provides pertinent advice and assistance to subordinate command activities as required
Serve as a point of contact (POC) on State Headquarters ARNG staff activities and field organizational elements
Administer the State Internal Control Program and monitor implementation and execution of other state level programs as assigned
Analyze program effectiveness, identify problematic areas, request operating level input, develop and make recommendations to the CAO for program revision or improvement
Ensure resolution of recurring problems through coordination with operating managers and staff officers
Act as special project officer when designated as such by CAO or the Adjutant General
Identify and initiate new projects as required to manage and oversee assigned programs
Attend meetings and/or special conferences as CAO representative and may act as a working member on special councils, contracting and financial boards, readiness committees, etc., and function as the public relations POC for the Command Administrative Office

Required

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
LL.M
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
Incumbent must possess or be able to acquire the appropriate level security clearance for this position
MUST UPLOAD YOUR MOST RECENT SF 50 (eg. General Adjustment) TO BE CONSIDERED
Must have experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration
Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information
Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled
Experience using computer and automation systems
Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions
Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations
Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures
Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
