Health Program Coordinator IPC (Infection Prevention and Control)

Responsibilities
Serves as the key proponent in the establishment and maintenance of Stand-Alone Military Treatment Facility Organization (SSO) Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programs
Facilitates communication between SSO medical and dental IPC professionals, working in collaboration with others within the Clinical Quality Management (CQM) functional components to meet strategic goals
Guides the development and implementation of activities and practices designed to ensure appropriate surveillance and other measures are taken to identify trends, clusters, and outliers of relevant healthcare–associated infections (HAIs)
Assesses needs and develops education and training aligned with leading medical and dental evidence–based practice
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position
Degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
One year of specialized experience which includes providing Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program level oversight, developing criteria, procedures, or guidelines; monitoring and documenting Infection Prevention and Control; and providing consultant or advisory services on a broad range of problems, conditions, programs, and functions to others in the healthcare field
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social)

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
A Personnel Security Investigation is required
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
A background investigation and credit check are required
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
Direct Deposit of Pay is required
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees
