Aircraft Avionics Technicians

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Avionics Technicians to support aircraft maintenance operations in Oscoda, Michigan. The Aircraft Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics and electrical systems on aircraft, ensuring compliance with approved technical data and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems
Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters
Troubleshoot electrical and electronic system malfunctions and performance issues
Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components and assemblies using hand tools and soldering equipment
Install electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems using hand tools, power tools, and soldering irons
Set up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional testing of avionics systems
Assemble electrical components including switches, controls, junction boxes, and wiring assemblies
Connect avionics components such as radio systems, instruments, magnetos, inverters, and related systems
Lay out and perform installations using blueprints, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation
Interpret test and performance data to diagnose system malfunctions
Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and other maintenance personnel
Fabricate parts, components, and test aids as required
Assemble prototypes or models of circuits, instruments, and systems for testing
Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

Required

Previous experience working with aircraft avionics and electrical systems
Must provide own tools
Ability to use company timekeeping systems and intranet tools
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet company priorities
Ability to crawl in and out of confined spaces
Ability to work in a prone position for extended periods exceeding four hours
Comfortable working at elevated heights of up to 40 feet
Ability to lift, balance, and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in enclosed hangars and outdoor weather conditions
Comfortable working in close proximity to other personnel

Preferred

MRO experience preferred but not required
