Responsibilities
Design, develop, and refine mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks and other engineering tools as appropriate
Produce and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of materials, and related design documentation
Incorporate feedback from prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and field use into design iterations
Ensure designs are compatible with machining, fabrication, and assembly processes
Follow company standards, industry best practices, and applicable safety requirements
Collaborate closely with in-house machining, fabrication, and 3D printing teams to support rapid prototyping and iteration
Participate in hands-on assembly, integration, and troubleshooting of mechanical components and systems
Support testing activities and help translate results into design improvements
Assist with on-site work as needed to validate fit, function, and manufacturability
Work with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to support system-level development
Communicate design intent clearly through drawings, models, and written documentation
Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving development environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
0–3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience
Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles
Exposure to prototyping, fabrication, or hardware-focused product development
Comfort working hands-on with physical hardware, including assemblies and shop-built prototypes
Familiarity with GD&T and producing clear, manufacturable 2D drawings
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
