The engineer will ensure continuity across firewall operations, design, governance, monitoring, and security posture while primarily focusing on Palo Alto firewalls.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and maintain systems across a complex enterprise network
Work with Cisco routers, switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and broader security technologies
Monitor network traffic for threats and take proactive remediation steps
Conduct vulnerability assessments and security testing
Optimize and troubleshoot network performance to ensure uptime and reliability
Manage and maintain VPNs and secure remote access solutions
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices
Partner with IT and internal departments to ensure smooth deployment of security controls
Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities
Provide advanced support for security‑related incidents
Develop KPIs and track performance against critical security and network goals
Document operational processes for future automation and playbook creation
Qualification
Required
3+ years of hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
Strong experience monitoring network traffic, identifying anomalies, and mitigating threats
Background conducting vulnerability assessments and addressing security weaknesses
Proven ability to optimize network performance and troubleshoot complex issues
Excellent culture fit: warm, calm, communicative, and collaborative
Must obtain CJIS certification upon offer
1st month onsite, then moves to 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
