Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Temporary Electronics Specialist for the Cogeneration System at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This role involves providing intermediate level skills in Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical systems to support the generation of steam and electricity for campus operations.

Responsibilities

Provides an intermediate level skill set in Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E)

Works independently on less complicated equipment and systems or with minimal instruction and direction from Supervisor and/or advanced level technicians

Qualification

InstrumentationControlsElectrical systemsAssociate’s degree in electronicsWork in extreme conditionsWork independently

Required

Associate's degree in electronics; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions

This position provides an intermediate skill set in Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (IC&E)

Position will work in extreme weather conditions including extreme heat/cold, direct sun, precipitation, and/or wind

Must be able to remain in a single or stationary position for extended periods of time

Must have the ability to ascend/descend stairs in buildings without an elevator

Will require employees to enter confined spaces or hazardous environments with the appropriate PPE in accordance with established procedures

Preferred

This position provides an intermediate skill set in the electrical, instrumentation and control circuitry on equipment and systems
