Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve customer issues around data ingestion at large scale and in complex network environments
Propose and implement solutions and enhancements to make the product more resilient
Review and guide the design and development of new features
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Mentor junior developers and raise the competency bar of the team
Suggest improvements to CICD and test coverage optimization
Define the long-term technological vision and roadmap for the products working in partnership with product management and other leaders

Required

8+ years of experience in building highly performant, distributed systems handling large volumes of data using C++
Experience leading troubleshooting of complex problems
Proficient in Linux OS and Windows
Experience developing systems that meet product security requirements and can articulate security pros and cons of different designs
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with at least 6 years of related experience

Preferred

Experience with Windows system logging
Ability to remain calm under pressure while working together with support and other engineering teams on urgent customer cases
Ability to provide customers with succinct updates on the progress of issues they work on, with an appropriate level of detail at both technical and leadership levels
Efficient communication both within the team and with counterparts across the organization
High integrity and reliability: ability to work independently and being accountable for delivering on schedule
