Purchasing & Procurement Manager
BORIDE Engineered Abrasives is a world class leader in abrasives manufacturing, and they are seeking a Purchasing & Procurement Manager. The ideal candidate will develop purchasing policies and manage the supply chain to improve efficiencies in a lean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for production materials and ancillaries, supplies, and equipment using best purchasing practices
Maintains accurate inventory levels: Implements cycle counting procedures, conducts cycle counting
Performs other duties as assigned
Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on markets, delivery systems, and other variables along the supply chain
Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids
Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems
Administers the departmental budget
Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines
Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment
Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods
Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges
Collaborates with other departments (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing) and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions and sources same
Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management
Creates and maintains effective relationships with suppliers and service venders
Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers
Serves as the company's liaison for all incoming and outgoing logistics needs, including international and domestic small package (parcel) and freight shipments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required
At least eight years of experience in a related field required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ideally with proven negotiation skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a track record of meeting and exceeding deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Understanding of business and management principles
Thorough awareness of materials and supplies used in the company
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Prefer proficiency with Syteline Software
