In this high-impact role, you will define the architecture, technical strategy, and governance for internal engineering tools and services that accelerate engineering velocity and reliability across the company.

Responsibilities
Define and own the enterprise architecture for the Developer Platform ecosystem (build tooling, internal services, infrastructure standards)
Serve as a principal technical decision‑maker across platform initiatives
Architect governance mechanisms that enforce technical standards and developer best practices organization‑wide
Lead expert technical reviews and provide strategic design guidance
Own architectural direction for core systems including advanced build systems such as Bazel and associated toolchains
Define best practices and governance for CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and SRE workflows
Design frameworks for tracking and improving engineering productivity and performance using established metrics (e.g., DORA)
Establish unified practices for cloud architecture, security, monitoring, and reliability across platform teams
Provide high‑level consultation on critical cloud application architecture decisions
Lead initiatives to enhance cloud efficiency and cost effectiveness for platform services
Qualification
Required
12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering with a strong emphasis on platform engineering, developer experience, and/or build/release systems
5+ years serving in a Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, or equivalent senior individual contributor capacity with demonstrable success in owning technical strategy and architectural vision
Expert-level proficiency in advanced build systems (especially Bazel), complex CI/CD pipelines, tooling ecosystems, and configuration/deployment technologies
Deep expertise in architecting and scaling internal developer platforms and infrastructure, including developer portals and internal tooling built in languages such as Node.js, Go, and Python
Strong cloud architecture background (AWS preferred), distributed systems design, SRE principles, and performance engineering
Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate complex architectural concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
