Human Resources Payroll Administrator

Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
Enter, validate, and audit payroll data including timesheets, new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes
Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Maintain working knowledge of Seattle-specific labor laws and pay practices
Leverage approved AI tools to streamline payroll quality checks with human oversight and documented controls
Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, benefits contributions, and tax withholdings
Respond to employee payroll questions and troubleshoot issues
Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure data integrity
Support onboarding and offboarding workflows
Assist with annual processes such as open enrollment, policy updates, or compliance audits
Prepare standard Human Resources reports and support HR metrics tracking
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information, payroll data, and Human Resources records
Ensure adherence to employment laws and company policies
Support the HR/Payroll Manager in preparing materials for benefits and 401(k) broker meetings, including prior renewal data, employee feedback, and usage reporting
Support internal and external audits as needed
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of Human Resources, payroll, or related administrative experience
Working knowledge of payroll practices and employment laws
Experience with HRIS/payroll systems
Strong attention to detail and data integrity
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred
Experience processing payroll for Washington-based workforce
Familiarity with Washington State and Seattle labor/payroll laws
Experience with benefits administration
Working knowledge of applying AI in Human Resources/payroll workflows
Human Resources certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
