Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of City events and recreational activities in coordination with the Parks Department
Support volunteer coordination and management efforts, including communication, scheduling, and on-site assistance during events
Assist with social media content creation, scheduling, and basic engagement, as well as updates to the city website
Photograph community events and recreational programs for use in marketing, social media, and promotional materials
Help develop marketing and promotional materials for City activities and events, including flyers, digital graphics, and announcements
Assist with drafting, editing, and organizing content for the City’s quarterly newsletter
Gain hands-on experience using the City’s recreation management software, SmartRec by Amilia, for registration, program support, and data entry
Attend Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) meetings to gain exposure to municipal recreation planning, decision-making, and community engagement processes
Assist in coordinating with vendors and community partners for events and recreational programs
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years (or 60 credit hours) of college education with an emphasis in Parks and Recreation, Event Management, Public Administration, Public Relations, or a related field
Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
A valid motor vehicle operator's license
