Responsibilities
Perform advanced skilled work across various trades, including building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry, specifically in the construction, maintenance, and repair of park facilities, equipment, and natural resources
Reach out to vendors to gather price quotes, calculate costs of necessary supplies and equipment, estimate man-hours needed for tasks, and prepare documentation for supervisor review and approval
Oversee semi-skilled laborers and other personnel to ensure successful completion of projects
Employ both hand and power tools to execute rough and finish carpentry tasks related to maintenance, renovation, and construction of park facilities
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to effectively repair or install various elements such as floor coverings, doors, locks, screens, roofs, soffits, fascia, spouting, windows, and decks
Plan, design, and construct wooden projects, including storage cabinets and shelving units
Undertake repairs, renovations, and new installations within the plumbing systems of all facilities, including clearing blocked drains and fixing leaking faucets
Conduct preventative maintenance and perform checklist inspections on vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure safe operation
Perform installations and repairs related to electrical systems, ensuring that all work meets safety standards and operational requirements
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
You must be able to perform essential job functions
