Responsibilities
Assist in the administration and support of VMware virtualized environments
Support Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, and Ubuntu Server systems
Help manage TrueNAS, which serves as the primary storage backend for the VMware environment, including monitoring capacity, performance, and system health
Support and maintain network infrastructure including WatchGuard firewalls and Ubiquiti UniFi devices
Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts, email, and security settings
Provide endpoint support for Windows 11 workstations and iOS devices
Perform routine system maintenance, patching, and updates with guidance as needed
Respond to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and escalate appropriately
Assist with documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures
Participate in infrastructure improvements and automation initiatives as skills develop
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT-related role (help desk, technician, junior admin, etc.)
Basic experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
Understanding of fundamental networking concepts
Experience supporting end users and troubleshooting technical issues
Willingness to learn new systems and technologies
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Preferred
Exposure to VMware, virtualization, or hypervisor concepts
Familiarity with TrueNAS, storage systems, or ZFS concepts
Experience with WatchGuard, Ubiquiti UniFi, or similar networking platforms
Basic scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or working with JSON
Relevant certifications or coursework (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, networking)
