Rigging Engineer (Professional Engineer)
Superior Rigging and Erecting is a specialty construction company focused on safety and precision. They are seeking an experienced Rigging Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to support complex crane, rigging, and heavy lift operations, ensuring engineered lift planning and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Develop engineered lift plans, rigging drawings, and supporting calculations for complex and critical crane and rigging operations
Perform structural and load analysis of rigging systems, lifting hardware, cranes, and support structures
Review, approve, and stamp engineered rigging and lift plans as the responsible Engineer of Record
Ensure engineered plans are constructible, practical, and aligned with field conditions and equipment limitations
Partner with Sales, Operations, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field crews to translate engineering designs into executable lift plans
Conduct site visits to evaluate job site conditions, validate assumptions, and identify potential risks
Provide real-time engineering support during critical or high-risk lifting operations as required
Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide engineered solutions during project execution
Ensure all rigging and lift plans comply with applicable OSHA, ASME, ANSI, and industry standards
Lead engineering risk assessments for non-routine, critical, or high-consequence lifts
Partner with Safety leadership to continuously improve lift planning, engineering controls, and rigging safety practices
Support incident reviews and corrective action development related to lifting and rigging activities
Mentor junior engineers and rigging personnel on engineering principles, rigging calculations, and lift planning best practices
Provide technical training to internal teams related to rigging safety, equipment limitations, and engineered lift execution
Serve as a trusted technical resource for leadership, operations, and field personnel
Accurate, compliant, and timely development of engineered lift plans
Effective collaboration with Operations and Safety leadership
Reduction of lifting and rigging risk through proactive engineering controls
Consistent technical support for critical and high-risk operations
Positive field engagement aligned with company values and safety expectations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia or ability to obtain through reciprocity
Minimum of two to five years of engineering experience related to rigging, heavy lift, crane operations, or structural systems
Demonstrated knowledge of crane load charts, rigging hardware, and engineered lift planning
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews and leadership
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar engineering and drafting software preferred
