Responsibilities

Plan and direct activities concerned with development, and maintenance of quality standards for the 145 Repair Station to ensure conformance with Civil Air Regulations, company specifications, and manual procedures
Oversee development of standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation
Approve training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities
Ensure all departments are in compliance with applicable governmental regulations and requirements
Develop, write and approve additions and revision to Repair Station Manuals
Consult and coordinate with the Shop Supervisors on maintenance issues and project scheduling
Perform and oversees the approval for return to service after maintenance (in accordance with regulations, to include completion of FAA Form 337’s and logbook entries); airframe, engine(s), propeller (s), and appliances
Apply for Airworthiness Certificate, Ferry Permits, and Field Approvals
Ensure that aircraft or any component thereof, returned to service meet type design or are properly altered state and in condition for safe flight
Ensure aircraft airworthiness by maintaining safety conditions conforming to standards set by the FAA and company policy
Conduct and oversee necessary progressive and final inspections to assure the airworthiness/ serviceability of aircraft and components thereof
Synthesize/utilize concrete technical knowledge to make decisions with regulatory requirements
Interpret technical information for field and department personnel and provides advice on compliance
Contact the FAA and other regulatory agencies and manufactures to clarify requirements and seek technical assistance
Research aircraft and engine maintenance log pages to ensure compliance with current regulations, manufacture’s programs and Air methods policies and procedures
Process and oversee work orders through all phases of a project
Perform and oversee parts room incoming and receiving inspections
Provide technical assistance in the development of AAIP and helps maintain revisions
Perform an aircraft historical record audit for completeness and accuracy
Communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel (field and/or corporate) for correction
Consult with field maintenance personnel on maintenance issues
Inspect and prepare aircraft equipment lists and weight and balance records

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five to eight years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten (10) years' experience working in a Certified FAA part 145 Repair Station
Demonstrated commitment to airworthiness and qualify of aircraft parts approved for return to service
Individual diversity and adaptability
Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines
Proficient with FAR's and ability to perform complex research of Federal Regulations
Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic's License
