ADMISSIONS TEST PREP TEACHER
The Assoc. of Waldorf Schools of N. America is seeking an experienced Admissions Test Prep Teacher for the Brooklyn Waldorf School. This role involves leading a class focused on helping middle school students strengthen their academic skills and develop effective test-taking strategies for high school admissions exams.

Responsibilities
Provide a developmentally and pedagogically appropriate Admissions Test Prep class once per week for middle school students
Design engaging, confidence-building lessons that strengthen reading comprehension, math reasoning, and problem-solving skills relevant to standardized admissions tests (e.g., ISEE, SSAT, TACHS, SHSAT)
Introduce students to effective study habits and test-taking strategies that reduce anxiety and encourage self-awareness
Create a positive and supportive environment that reflects the educational values of a Waldorf school
Maintain a clean and organized classroom space
Facilitate all transitions to and from class
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students enrolled in the class
Secure a substitute teacher in case of absence
Communicate with the Auxiliary Program Coordinator regarding logistical, pedagogical, or behavioral matters as needed
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated expertise in admissions test preparation, tutoring, or middle school teaching (English, Math, or related subjects)
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students at varying skill levels
Familiarity with or openness to Waldorf education and its child-centered, holistic approach
Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons for student absences, late enrollments, or varying test goals
Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, faculty, and staff
Preferred
Experience working in an after school or similar educational environment
