Responsibilities
Verify successful activation of all EV charging services on test vehicles
Review vehicle documentation and confirm correct feature coding and backend connectivity
Validate telematics and infotainment software levels; recommend updates as needed
Track service activation status across vehicles and resolve activation issues
Document activation workflows, defects, and resolutions
Execute structured EV charging test cases across multiple vehicle models and generations
Perform vehicle preparation, including coordination, safety checks, and test drive planning
Conduct charging tests at public charging stations under stationary and dynamic conditions
Capture, upload, and analyze test data; log defects and follow through to resolution
Update test cases as needed and provide end-of-cycle test reports
Perform interoperability testing between vehicles and various public DC fast-charging networks
Collect and analyze charging communication logs (PLC, CAN, etc.) to diagnose issues
Review charging-related backend messages and assess their impact on vehicle charging behavior
Apply relevant SAE/ISO standards when developing or refining test cases
Update test vehicles with hardware and/or software and perform post-update smoke testing
Participate in defect triage, sprint reviews, and planning meetings
Stay informed on the evolving U.S. EV charging infrastructure landscape
Prepare project reports and communicate test progress, risks, and issues
Work independently while meeting deadlines and deliverables
Qualification
Required
5–8 years of experience in automotive engineering, EV systems, embedded systems, or related testing roles
Hands-on experience with EV charging testing (AC/DC) or connected/digital vehicle services
Strong knowledge of telematics systems, vehicle communication protocols, and OTA/ECU software updates
Experience collecting and analyzing vehicle and charging logs (CAN, PLC, etc.)
Proficiency in test case creation, execution, and defect management
Excellent documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills
Ability to work fully onsite and drive test vehicles (valid U.S. driver's license required)
Preferred
Experience with public charging infrastructure and interoperability testing for BEVs
Understanding of ISO/SAE EV charging standards and protocols
Background in connected services, telematics backends, or charging network API integrations
Prior experience in automotive validation, diagnostics, or EV systems integration
