Responsibilities
Serve in a technical support role under the direction of a Project Manager or senior engineer on a variety of engineering projects
Complete assigned tasks independently and collaboratively within established schedules and budgets
Assist with the preparation and/or modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations
Develop project quantities and assist with cost estimates
Provide organizational and administrative support for design files and project documentation
Perform research, data collection, field investigations, and assist with the development and design of projects
Support preparation of engineering designs, planning documents, and PS&E packages as applicable
Coordinate with various design disciplines, which may include structures, drainage, stormwater, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way, and environmental teams
Assist with workload coordination throughout project development to help ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
Qualification
Required
0–3 years of experience (internship or academic project experience acceptable)
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program (or currently pursuing)
I.T. certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
General knowledge of applicable engineering standards and guidelines (e.g., Caltrans, AASHTO, MUTCD, APWA), or a strong willingness to learn
Preferred
