Responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Qualification
Required
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Advanced in one or more programming language(s) : Java
Experience in delivering solutions in large scale software development using modern technology (e.g. Java, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (e.g. microservices, APIs) is must
Proficiency in Java, Spring frameworks, REST API, Cloud, Micro services is required
Strong experience in modern software development lifecycle with DEVOPS mentality and test driven development approaches. Hands-on experience in automating builds, deploys, monitoring and alerts. Experience and deep familiarity with Jenkins, Splunk, Dynatrace etc. or any other tools/technologies of similar function
Experience with the following development and build tools (or similar): IntelliJ/Eclipse, Maven, BitBucket/Git/Gitflow, JMeter/Pasta/Blazemeter, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, MVC and Spring Cloud is required
Experience in Unix Shell Scripts, API Gateways, Apache Kafka, Cassandra, NoSQL is needed
Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Preferred
Experience with large legacy platform decomposition, mainframe, Hadoop, Hive a plus
