Responsibilities

Assist in installing, configuring, and upgrading SQL Server database environments

Monitor database performance, health, and availability using standard DBA tools

Perform database backups, restores, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity

Support security management , including user access, roles, and permissions

Help troubleshoot database issues, slow queries, and performance bottlenecks

Execute routine maintenance tasks such as indexing, patching, and log management

Work with development teams to support database deployments and releases

Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes

Follow organizational data governance, compliance, and security policies

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server architecture and components

Knowledge of SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and indexing concepts

Familiarity with backup/restore strategies and database recovery models

Exposure to performance tuning and troubleshooting concepts

Understanding of database security best practices

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
