Responsibilities
Shadow licensed crew leader to gain experience in supervisor responsibilities while preparing for licensure examination
Leads and trains a crew of four to five employees in the repair and maintenance of water and sanitary sewer lines and related infrastructure
Operates a backhoe and other heavy equipment used to excavate for the repair and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
Performs on call duties 24 hours per day, seven days per week as assigned
Completes daily work orders
Communicates and coordinates with supervisors on task assignments
Receives and responds to public inquiries
Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and ensures compliance with preventive maintenance requirements for heavy equipment
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED equivalent or higher
1 year of experience in a related field
Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement or higher
Class II Wastewater Collection System Operator License as required by TCEQ or the ability to obtain within 2 years
Class C Water Distribution Operator License or the ability to obtain within 2 years
