Senior Manager Fraud Analytics
Harnham is partnering with a well-funded US fintech that is scaling into an AI-powered digital bank. The Director of Fraud Prevention will own the end-to-end fraud strategy, building a scalable program while collaborating cross-functionally to enhance fraud detection and response.
Responsibilities
Design and evolve enterprise fraud policies, risk appetite, and operating model across the lifecycle (originations → usage → collections)
Evaluate and implement best-in-class platforms (IDV, device intelligence, behavioral biometrics, transaction monitoring, link analysis), then tune for low friction and low loss
Build and iterate rules, scores, and ML-assisted detection; lead root-cause and post-mortems; drive playbooks and incident response
Partner with Product, Eng, Data, Ops, Compliance & Finance to embed controls into new features and growth bets
Manage vendors, processor & network relationships; align on SLAs, data sharing & performance
Hands-on until team scales; you’ll hire & shape the function
Qualification
Required
8+ years in fraud risk for cards / lending / fintech (confident across ATO, synthetic, first‑party, mule/bust‑out, transaction & dispute fraud)
Built/owned a card‑oriented fraud program (identity through transaction), ideally with Mastercard ecosystem knowledge
Strong data chops; comfortable with rules + ML‑driven insights and trade‑off decisions (loss vs. friction vs. growth)
Track record reducing losses and false positives while scaling
Vendor selection/ownership and cross‑functional influence at pace
