Responsibilities

Install, rack, stack, cable, and configure Cisco UCS hardware across two datacenter locations

Integrate UCS systems with Cisco Fabric Interconnect switches while ensuring connectivity to Pure Storage arrays and local manufacturing LAN environments

Configure iSCSI storage connectivity between UCS blade servers and Pure Storage arrays

Deploy VMware ESXi hosts using UCS service profiles/templates and ensure storage datastores are properly presented and accessible

Implement VMware vCenter infrastructure, create host clusters, and configure high availability (HA) and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)

Develop VM templates to support manufacturing execution system (MES) workloads and provision required virtual machines

Provide ongoing support to MES development teams for server, storage, and virtualization needs

Collaborate with Systems Engineering teams to design and execute migration strategies from legacy UCS blade environments running Hyper-V to VMware-based infrastructure

Plan phased migrations carefully to minimize downtime and maintain production stability
