Responsibilities
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project specifications are met. Projects range from additions to historical remodels to new high end luxury homes
Obtain relevant information at onsite consultations and field meetings, use field collected data for problem solving and design changes during construction
Interpret sealed engineering drawings and confirm compliance with field framing
Incorporate wood, reinforced concrete, and steel into designs
Develop and implement structural system designs using AutoCAD
Prepare construction documentation for new plans and reports for field work and inspections
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Must hold NC EI or PE Certification or have passed EI exam and be in process of obtaining certification
0 to 10 years experience in structural engineering design
Candidate must have strong math, analytical skills, communication, writing skills with an understanding of structural engineering fundamentals
Experience with wood, structural steel, and reinforced concrete design, or has completed courses related to these materials
Preferred
AutoCAD experience preferred
