Responsibilities

The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products or enhance existing product lines, from conceptual design through production launch and post-launch evaluation
This role bridges the gap between engineering, design, manufacturing, and marketing to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards
The EPM will guide projects through a structured phase-gate process, managing scope, resources, and risks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Lead end-to-end product development projects, from conception, feasibility, and prototyping to manufacturing launch
Act as the central point of contact for engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment
Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, timelines (Gantt charts), and milestones to meet launch dates
Manage project budgets, track expenses, and perform cost analysis to ensure project profitability
Proactively identify project risks, technical challenges, and bottlenecks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Collaborate with engineers to ensure design specifications are met
Document the entire development process, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Work with production teams to transition products from design to manufacturing (transfer to production), ensuring Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles are applied
Provide regular, concise status updates to senior management and stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and KPIs

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project management, specifically within a manufacturing or new product development environment
Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), engineering change management, and manufacturing techniques
Proven experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, SAP) and a strong understanding of stage-gate processes
Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred

Prior Project Management experience within a manufacturing environment, focused on metal fabrication
Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques (e.g., Kaizen, 5S)
