Responsibilities
Perform Gopher Tortoise surveys and any necessary permitting
Perform ecological field investigations for wetlands inventories and any necessary permitting with state/local agencies such as water management districts and federal agencies such as the US Army Corps of Engineers
Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data
Assist in preparing reports in support of projects, including protected species and natural habitat assessments, environmental impacts, and biological evaluations
Perform routine and sometimes complex tasks related to field data collection, including preparing and transcribing field notes
Ability to conduct a preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened and endangered species and critical habitat
Reviewing publicly available databases such as the National Wetlands Inventory and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps

Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, ecology, environmental science, forestry, physical or natural sciences, or related fields

Stream determinations, permitting
Biological assessments and terrestrial surveys
Protected/listed species surveys and monitoring
Ecological habitat surveys/assessment
Avian surveys
Regulatory agency permitting
GPS data collection and mapping support
ArcGIS online mapping and data collection applications
Planning and leading benthic/marine resource surveys and preparing benthic/marine resource survey reports
