The Manager Engineering 2 will lead technology development initiatives, monitor industry trends, and coordinate innovative solutions across the engineering department.

Responsibilities
Serve as the central point of contact for technology development efforts across the department
Monitor commercial industry trends to identify new and emerging technologies
Stay up to date with innovations from other shipyards and naval laboratories
Engage with other groups within the department to understand their challenges and opportunities, and providing innovative solutions that can help address them
Engage with other NNS departments on innovation, technologies, robotics, etc
Coordinate the management of new technology initiatives to provide a consistent approach to project execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes
Clearance Required: Yes - Interim Clearance Required To Start
Travel Requirement: Yes, 10%-25% of the time
