Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

Drive continuous process improvement in the manufacturing of advanced pyrotechnic and energetic materials for aerospace and defense systems
Lead all quality activities within assigned work cells, collaborating with design engineering, manufacturing, planning, and cross-functional teams to ensure product excellence
Investigate internal and external quality concerns, spearhead root cause analysis, and implement robust corrective actions
Review and inspect documentation for completeness and accuracy, supporting compliance with stringent industry and customer standards
Partner with Supplier Development Engineering to resolve vendor hardware discrepancies and elevate supplier performance
Analyze work instructions and procedures, identifying opportunities for error-proofing and process optimization
Innovate new process controls and champion their sustainment post-implementation
Represent PacSci EMC in customer interactions, presenting lot data packages and First Article Inspections (FAIs) as needed
Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on assembly environment, spending most of your time on the production floor
Support internal, customer, and registrar audits, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and compliance
Participate in daily management meetings and collaborate with program support teams to drive operational excellence
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and statistical software; strong data analysis and reporting skills
Demonstrated competency with APQP tools (D/PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Auditing experience (internal, customer, or registrar audits)
Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 75% during the first 90 days
High energy, adaptability, and a passion for hands-on problem solving
Due to our involvement in highly sensitive national security matters, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role
Conditional offers require passing a United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background screen

Preferred

Experience in electronics, ordnance, or energetic materials (powders/propellants) is highly desirable
Lean manufacturing expertise: Six Sigma or ASQ certification is a strong plus
