Staff Software Engineer, Quality, Shopping Agent

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions
Lead the definition and execution of quality metrics for the shopping agent, ensuring response accuracy, safety, and brand alignment across multimodal interactions (text, voice, image)
Design and implement automated evaluation pipelines and datasets for complex shopping journeys, including virtual try-on, reasoning, and support queries
Collaborate with research and modeling teams to perform quality hill-climbing for foundational models, optimizing prompts and grounding to reduce hallucinations and improve conversion outcomes
Develop robust integration tests for agentic actions (e.g., add-to-cart, checkout) and ensure seamless interoperability between the shopping agent and customer service agent platforms
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience in software development
Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including hallucinations, faithfulness, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) quality
Experience in C++ and Python and building scalable test automation frameworks for non-deterministic AI systems
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms
Experience launching and maintaining high-availability consumer-facing AI products
Familiarity with testing multimodal systems (e.g., Voice/Audio) and agents that perform actions (tool use)
Understanding retail workflows (catalog, cart, checkout) and customer support nuances to better design user-centric test scenarios
Excellent problem-solving skills to interpret quality metrics, identify regression patterns, and drive data-informed modeling decisions
