Quality Manager

MBC Companies is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the Quality Control Department. This role includes ensuring compliance with FDA and BRCGS requirements, promoting food safety culture, and managing the daily activities of the Quality Control team.

Responsibilities

Updates and Implements FSQA programs and policies
Ensures Continuous Improvement of the FSQA Program to follow regulatory, GFSI, and corporate standards
Ensures Food Safety Culture meets or exceeds regulatory and corporate standards
Completes Risk Assessments, Root Cause Analyses, and CAPA’s thoroughly and efficiently
Responsible for 2nd and 3rd Party Food Safety Audits (including but not limited to: FDA, BRCGS, Customer specific)
Oversees daily activities of the Quality Control Supervisor, Quality Control Technicians, and Quality Control Lab
Ensures all FSQA SOP’s are up to date and accurate
Arranges training and development of the Quality Control Department
Holds department meetings to ensure that associates are kept informed of goals, objectives, progress, and policies
Responsible for maintaining inventory of lab supplies and equipment
Assists in R&D Projects
Assists in the commercialization process of new products
Ensures Product Specifications are kept organized and up to date
Fully promotes the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values

Is organized, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, has a strong attention to detail and critical thinking

Required

Must have a bachelor's degree in food, food science, biology or other related field or a combination of an associate's degree in food, food science, biology or other related field and at least 5 years of experience in the Food Industry, specifically in Quality Assurance
Must have experience with GFSI Auditing schemes, preferably BRCGS
Must be PCQI and/or HACCP Certified
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, creating and editing PDFs. Quick to learn new computer skills and ability to learn new software
