Network Technician
American Unit, Inc is seeking a Network Technician to augment the existing IT staff as they undertake network remediation and infrastructure improvement initiatives. This role will support the network environment, including Microsoft 365 administration, wired and wireless connectivity, and infrastructure projects across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
Respond to and resolve tickets related to:
Wired and wireless network issues
Account onboarding and offboarding using scripts
Infrastructure-related incidents
Coordinate with help desk teams to ensure timely resolution
Participate in on-call rotation every three weeks
Provide:
Level 1 support for critical site outages
Level 2 support for escalated network issues
Assist with network rollouts, upgrades, and cleanup efforts
Support planning and execution of infrastructure improvements
Maintain documentation and inventory of network assets
Perform Microsoft administration tasks, including:
Entra ID (Azure AD) management
Group Policy configuration
Microsoft 365 administration
Assist with Windows Server maintenance:
Monitoring and performance tuning
Patch management and updates
Qualification
Required
10+ years of troubleshooting experience in networking (wired and wireless)
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID
5+ years of experience with Microsoft administration
5+ years of experience with Windows Server environments
5+ years of experience with customer service in technical support roles
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (Equivalent experience may be substituted.)
Work Location: Columbia, SC (fully onsite)
Candidate must be a current South Carolina resident
No relocation allowed
Valid driver's license required to operate a state vehicle
Travel may be required across the state (same-day trips)
Preferred
Experience working with wiring closets
Experience with Ruckus switches
Experience with Deskpro ticketing system
Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
