Graduate Intern - Economic Development
The City of New York is committed to promoting financial health and integrity within the government. The Economic Development intern will produce analyses to support the Comptroller's economic development agenda and contribute to policy briefs and reports.

Responsibilities
Producing both quantitative and qualitative analyses to further the Office of the Comptroller's economic development agenda
They will contribute to in-depth exploration of economic trends in New York City as part of the Comptroller's regular economic "spotlights."
They may also produce or contribute to policy briefs, in-depth policy reports, and/or internal memos
Perform other duties and assignments as may be required
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Graduate degree program for the Fall 2026 semester
Matriculation at an accredited college
Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in college
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school
Preferred
Proficiency in statistical and econometric methods
Strong policy analysis skills, and the ability to synthesize multiple sources of qualitative and quantitative information
Working familiarity with statistical software (e.g. Stata, SAS, R)
Interest in economic policy and economic equity, particularly at the city level
Strong verbal communication and policy writing skills
Ability to take ownership of research projects and manage competing deadlines
