Manufacturing Process Engineer

LHH is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer with expertise in applications engineering, PCB design, embedded systems, and C++ programming. Responsibilities

Develop, design, and validate PCBs, circuits, and embedded systems for new and existing products
Write and maintain embedded software/firmware, primarily in C/C++, for microcontroller-based applications
Serve as the technical point of contact for production regarding electronics assembly, troubleshooting, and optimization
Translate application requirements into functional hardware and firmware solutions
Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on electronic failures or process issues and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards
Provide technical guidance and training to production staff on electronics assembly and testing procedures
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and work instructions

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in electronics hardware and embedded systems design
Strong proficiency in PCB design and layout
Experienced in embedded systems programming, including C/C++ development for microcontrollers
Familiarity with production electronics assembly, soldering, and test equipment
Knowledge of electronics theory, schematics, datasheets, and signal integrity considerations
Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to travel between Illinois locations as needed

Preferred

Certifications such as IPC-A-610 or relevant embedded systems certifications are a plus
