Statewide ADA Facility Inspector / Administrator IV - Hybrid
NEOGOV is seeking a Statewide ADA Facility Inspector / Administrator IV to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in state-owned facilities. The role involves conducting inspections, reviewing construction plans, and advising on ADA compliance policies to enhance accessibility across Colorado's government facilities.

Responsibilities
Conducts field inspections of state-owned facilities and properties during new construction, alteration, or remodeling to ensure compliance with the ADA
Reviews construction plans for compliance with the Accessibility Building Code and signs off for ADA review
Inspects existing properties for ADA compliance and coordinates the timeline for remediation
Investigates ADA complaints from citizens regarding state-owned facilities
Documents compliance of ADA issues and submits reports to the Statewide Equity Office and Office of State Architect
Advises State staff, consultants, and contractors on ADA policies and compliance
Serves as the subject matter expert on all ADA compliance issues as it relates to design, construction, and inspection of buildings and facilities
Stays abreast of new guidelines, standards, and requirements of the Accessibility Building Code and best practices in accessibility
Prepares written documents and reports on the status of ADA compliance issues
Provides assistance in interpreting current codes and standards
Provides technical assistance in developing facility project plans
Advises State staff on best practices, interpretation, and implementation strategies
In collaboration with the Statewide Equity Manager - Accessibility, develops priorities, and project plans, and manages the SEO’s statewide transition plan efforts for facilities
Facilitates a Statewide Community of Practice for Accessibility workgroup composed of state employees and members of the community
Qualification
Required
At least seven (7) years of relevant experience in architecture, building construction, engineering, and/or a related field which includes experience leading ADA Title I or Title II programs with the ability to demonstrate subject matter expertise in Accessibility Programs and reasonable accommodations including but not limited to technology, reporting and tracking, communication, identification, policy, advocacy, and accountability
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in architecture, building construction, engineering, and/or a related field which includes experience leading ADA Title I or Title II programs with the ability to demonstrate subject matter expertise in Accessibility Programs and reasonable accommodations including but not limited to technology, reporting and tracking, communication, identification, policy, advocacy, and accountability equal to at least seven (7) years
Preferred
Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
Knowledge of general construction materials and technology
Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to Colorado building codes
Knowledge of the Accessibility Building Code
Knowledge of the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act
Ability to serve as a subject matter expert on ADA compliance issues
Ability to prepare correspondence and reports
Ability to develop project procedures and schedules
Ability to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment
