Firmware Design Engineer

The Firmware Design Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary team to design and implement firmware solutions for various FPGA and DSP applications, while also collaborating on related software tasks to positively impact customers.

Responsibilities
Review and understand current firmware designs and implementations
Modify existing and create novel firmware designs to function on new hardware systems
Define requirements for new firmware and DSP systems
Collaborate with other firmware developers to implement, improve, and validate designs
Support field test activities by operating equipment and troubleshooting issues
Qualification
Required
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Experience with the following: Verilog/VHDL
Experience with Digital Signal Processing
Experience with MATLAB, C/C++
Experience with Laboratory test equipment – Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator
Experience with Digital, analog, and radio frequency circuits
Experience with Enterprise Linux
Experience with Scripting languages
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Must be able to clearly articulate conclusions via technical reports and documents
Preferred
Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
Familiarity or experience with the following: Embedded software design
Familiarity or experience with Revision control (git, SVN)
Familiarity or experience with Vivado/Vitis
Familiarity or experience with Modelsim/Questasim
Familiarity or experience with RHEL (or similar)
Familiarity or experience with Open Systems Architectures
