Grants Analyst
Career Blazers Nonprofit Search is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing life challenges. As a Grant Budget Analyst, you will manage government and foundation grants, ensuring compliance and supporting budget oversight and financial analysis to contribute to the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of government and private foundation grants and contracts, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and submission of required reports
Partner with program leaders and contracts staff to assess budget performance, review revenue and expense activity, and update financial projections as needed
Collaborate with Payroll and Accounting teams to align staffing costs and non-personnel expenses to support accurate invoicing and reimbursement
Lead grant and contract budget planning from development through implementation, including preparing financial components for new funding applications with program and development teams
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the organization’s annual operating budget
Prepare and submit funding requests and financial reports through applicable federal, state, and local online systems
Ensure adherence to funder requirements by tracking compliance standards and participating in trainings or bidder conferences when required
Develop and refine budgeting tools, forecasts, and financial models using Excel and NetSuite
Support annual audit processes, including preparation for Single Audit reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
3+ years of experience in budgeting and financial analysis within a nonprofit environment
Demonstrated experience managing government-funded grants and contracts
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information to program, fiscal, executive leadership, and external stakeholders
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel and strong working knowledge of Word
Preferred
Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system strongly preferred
