Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize ETL jobs in SAP BODS for extraction, transformation, and loading of master and transactional data from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA/ECC
Lead and execute data migration cycles (mock runs, cutover), including data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, validation, reconciliation, and sign‑off with business
Analyze and understand business processes (R2R, S2P, O2C as applicable) and translate them into data migration rules, mappings, and transformation logic
Prepare and maintain Source‑to‑Target mapping documents, conversion rules, and data migration design specifications
Develop and maintain reusable BODS jobs/objects (workflows, data flows, transforms) and ensure performance tuning and error handling
Execute data loads using LSMW, SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, IDocs, BAPIs, and other standard SAP interfaces as required
Collaborate with functional consultants, technical teams, and business SMEs to gather requirements, resolve data issues, and ensure successful test cycles (SIT, UAT)
Perform root‑cause analysis of data and performance issues, propose corrective actions, and implement process improvements
Create and maintain documentation for data migration strategy, approach, procedures, and runbooks for cutover
Support post‑go‑live data corrections, stabilization, and knowledge transfer to support teams
Qualification
Required
10 years of hands‑on experience in SAP BO Data Services (BODS) with strong ETL design, development, and optimization skills
Proven experience in at least one full‑cycle SAP data migration project (preferably to S/4HANA) including design, build, testing, and cutover
Strong understanding of SAP data migration methodology, including data profiling, cleansing, transformation, loading, and validation
Experience developing at least 5+ complex BODS objects/jobs for large‑volume enterprise data loads
Solid knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data model and business processes, especially R2R and S2P; ability to analyze data requirements and gaps
Hands‑on experience with LSMW, SAP Migration Cockpit, IDocs, BAPIs, and other standard migration interfaces
Good understanding of master and transactional data (Customer, Vendor/Business Partner, Material, GL, FI/CO, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills on S/4, including ability to investigate data inconsistencies and propose solutions
Ability to work in cross‑functional teams, communicate clearly with business and technical stakeholders, and manage workload independently
