Responsibilities

Correctly places EKG leads and electrodes to acquire a diagnostically accurate EKG
Prepares a patient for testing
Explains each autonomic test component to the patient and assures they understand what to expect, how to communicate during the test and why the test has been ordered
Sets up the patient room with all necessary equipment before the patient’s test time
Performs each autonomic test and records observations in real time
Helps to maintain proper scheduling in conjunction with the scheduling department
Provides patients with pre-appointment paperwork and answers any patient questions prior to appointment date
Maintains proper supply levels and orders additional testing supplies as needed
Enters test result data

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Strong clinical background, ideally with experience in neurodiagnostics such as EEG, EMG, sleep technology, or related autonomic testing
Ability to correctly place EKG leads and electrodes to acquire a diagnostically accurate EKG
Ability to prepare a patient for testing
Ability to explain each autonomic test component to the patient and assure they understand what to expect, how to communicate during the test and why the test has been ordered
Ability to set up the patient room with all necessary equipment before the patient's test time
Ability to perform each autonomic test and record observations in real time
Ability to help maintain proper scheduling in conjunction with the scheduling department
Ability to provide patients with pre-appointment paperwork and answer any patient questions prior to appointment date
Ability to maintain proper supply levels and order additional testing supplies as needed
Ability to enter test result data

Preferred

Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist [R. EEG T.] - ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation preferred
Can perform accurate EKG tracings
Excellent patient interactive skills
Can recognize life threatening arrhythmias
Can recognize EKG artifact
Can enter data quickly and accurately
Can measure blood pressure
